1. Cheating- The most common mistake that people make when building muscles is that they try to cheat when they lift weights. When you do something incorrectly don’t expect to get any good results from it. You will only be wasting your time and fooling yourself in to thinking that you are actually building up your muscle. A lot of people are not aware of the right form when it comes to lifting weights which is something that is shocking to say the least when you think about the ease with which you could get all the information that you need. If you continue to cheat and follow incorrect forms you are in danger of suffering from injuries and you won’t see any progress at all.

2. Don’t Lift What You Can’t Handle- Some people who undergo weight training are driven by vanity to show off that they can bench press something that is beyond them to show off. The spotter will have to carry the weight and the exercise is not doing him any good. It is not developing his muscles one bit. Better to train on your own and lift what you really can.

3. Start with the Basics and Stick with Them- Using heavy free weights instead of some easy weight machines is the true way of attaining big muscles. The excesses involved can be excruciating. Squats, deadlifts, bench presses, dips, and seated presses when done properly and in the old way that a lot of body builders of the past have done can bring you some really astonishing results when it comes to muscles but they are difficult to do. You really have to be disciplined for it.

4. Don’t Overdo It- Too much exercising can result in injury. While working out is good there is a certain point when you have to stop. An hour of weight lifting should be enough.

5. Put Some Variation to Your Routine- If you stick to a certain routine for a long period of time your body will learn to adopt to it. The body is good at doing that and it will not show any bit of progress at all. Put some variation into what you do.You need to shock the muscles and surprise them with a new routine before they get used to the old one.

6. Rest- Taking a rest is just as important as exercising. It is during the rest period that the body rebuilds the tissues that have been damaged during the exercise. If you don’t take enough rest the body will not be able to replace what has been damaged.

These are just some of the things that you ought to keep in mind when you are aiming on building big muscles there are a lot more stuff that you need to keep in mind.
